PLEASE NOTE: The 2021 Virtual Moundville Native American Festival will be VIRTUAL this year. For more information, visit the Festival website.
The Park grounds are open from dawn to dusk. The Admissions office is open from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm and the Museum is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, seven days a week.
All visitors need to wear masks in our buildings. All social distancing requirements remain, which is currently at 3 feet.
Dogs are allowed on the grounds, but must remain leashed. They are prohibited inside buildings unless they are service animals.
The campground is currently open, but our bathhouse is closed, and thus only RV camping is permitted. We will re-open the bathhouse on March 1st. We are now closing the bathhouse every year from December 1st to March 1st. Additionally, we also do not allow camping on the holidays that the Park is closed: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day, Easter (6 days). The buildings and grounds are closed on those days.
New check-in procedures, as well as enhanced safety and cleaning protocols, have been implemented to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Please be aware of the following when visiting our spectacular archaeological site and fantastic museum:
* All visitors, including the city of Moundville residents with Resident Passes, must check-in at the Admissions office before entering the Park grounds. Moundville residents must also display Resident Passes in vehicles while in the Park.
*Masks are mandatory in all buildings and may be purchased in the Admissions office. All visitors entering the Jones Archaeological Museum, including Moundville residents, must also wear a wristband obtained from the Admissions office.
*Social distancing guidelines are posted throughout the Park. Per the University of Alabama, outdoor groups must be 10 or fewer people. Indoor group size restrictions are posted at all building entrances.
