Moundville Archaeological Park is participating in community outreach with Jr. Archaeology Day to learn about the history of Sloss Furnace through archaeological excavation and interpretation. This is a free event and no registration is required. All Ages are welcome and activities are geared towards K-12.

This event is in collaboration with the Alabama Archaeological Society, the City of Birmingham, Alabama, The University of Alabama at Birmingham Anthropology Club.

This event will take place on Friday, July 21 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm.

Location

Jr. Archaeology Day will be located at the Sloss Furnace company quarter commissary, which is across the street from the Sloss main entrance and next door to Back Forty Beer Co.
