Saturday in the Park: Juanita Gardinski- Choctaw Beading, and the Southern Pine Drum Group

Join us for our first 2019 edition of Saturday in the Park! Our Saturday in the park programs are a series of demonstrations and presentations related to Native American culture, crafts, technology archaeology, natural history, and more. On this date, Mrs. Juanita Gardinski will be with us to demonstrate Choctaw beading. Children will be welcome to complete some hands-on beadwork of their own! Mystic Wind Choctaw Social Dancers and the Southern Pine Drum Group will also be here to demonstrate traditional Choctaw drumming and dancing.

The program will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of or inside the Jones Archaeological Museum. The program is free with paid park admission.

Moundville is located 13 miles south of Tuscaloosa, off Alabama Highway 69. Park admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors 55 years and older and $6 for students.
